Who is Harvest American, Inc.?

At Harvest American, we have a firm commitment to "buy local" and "work sustainably". Our employees share the same community as our shop, so we care about the footprint our business leaves so near our homes.

When you call our offices, you won't get a computerized runaround. A flesh-and-blood English speaking human will pick up the phone and provide you with actual, helpful customer service.

We have a small but dedicated staff and we are proud to say this privately owned business is bucking the trend and employing new people. In fact, we doubled our full time staff in the past year and continue to bring on extra contractors.

Our Raffle Ticket, Number Machine, and Number Machine Pro software was conceived and written by programmers living nearby in central New York. Yes, we paid a little more for their services, but it's nice to know our dollars will be flowing back into our local economy.

We use nearby print shops to do the specialty perforations on the bond and card stocks we sell. Even though we could get these papers more cheaply overseas, we want to do what we can to help out the struggling businesses nearby. Buying locally has the added benefit of keeping the amount of fossil fuels needed to ship the paper to a minimum. We also feel it's important to make sure we buy only papers made with recycled content directly from American sources.

Our packages are assembled by clients of the Madison Cortland ARC (Alternatives, Resources, Choices), an organization dedicated to helping people with developmental disabilities achieve their potential and become financially independent. We have been extremely satisfied with the individual attention and care they provide each and every package - from digitally weighing the paper to ensure the correct sheet count, to securing the label, to shrink wrapping and boxing - our orders are assembled with the utmost quality.
